Dear Members,

You may already be aware of the sad news of the recent deaths of both Bryan Ashton and John Slater - both long-time and active members of Woodthorpe Tennis Club.

John Slater, who died on the 21st September, was an active member of the club and loved to give his time behind the bar.

Bryan Ashton died last Wednesday. As husband of former President Pat Andrews, he gave many years of active service to the club, as a player, membership secretary and volunteer.

Bryan's funeral is on the Tuesday 3rd of November at 1pm. It's at the Landican Cemetery, then at the Manor which is about 2 miles away. His family have requested only family flowers - instead donations can be given to the Helicopter North West fund.

To acknowledge their contribution to the club, we have sent cards, flowers and will be be donating to the Helicopter North West fund.

Please join the Committee in sending our best wishes.

Best regards

Richard Startin
