Well done to everyone who has played so far this season. After a tough start we have had two great results last week:
Mixed 1st Team beating David Lloyd Nottingham convincingly (74-34). Great performance from all and a special mention to Wendy and Neil who took their match 7-5 against a player who we understand has been playing on the Futures circuit and has a rating of 2.1. Great achievement.
Men's 1st Team beating Keyworth 86-22. Both Neil and Craig as a pairing took 31 games from 36 and our homegrown younger players of Joss Marshall and Jack McLachlan equalling the more senior pair with 31 games too.
The teams for upcoming fixtures have been updated today and can be found at: http://www.ontheballcoaching.com/woodthorpe-teams.html
Team training is on Thursday this week at 6.15-7.45pm and we hope to have a good turn out like Friday where we had 16 players. Hopefully the floodlights will be sorted soon which will mean we can train on Thursdays regardless of a match taking place or not.

You may already be aware of the sad news of the recent deaths of both Bryan Ashton and John Slater - both long-time and active members of Woodthorpe Tennis Club.
John Slater, who died on the 21st September, was an active member of the club and loved to give his time behind the bar.
Bryan Ashton died last Wednesday. As husband of former President Pat Andrews, he gave many years of active service to the club, as a player, membership secretary and volunteer.
Bryan's funeral is on the Tuesday 3rd of November at 1pm. It's at the Landican Cemetery, then at the Manor which is about 2 miles away. His family have requested only family flowers - instead donations can be given to the Helicopter North West fund.
To acknowledge their contribution to the club, we have sent cards, flowers and will be be donating to the Helicopter North West fund.
Please join the Committee in sending our best wishes.
